Layla and Conrad wanted that classic 30A look for their engagement photos, and Rosemary Beach ended up being the perfect spot. We started around the town center and walked through some of the side streets before heading toward the beach for sunset.
Rosemary Beach is one of the prettiest places for photos on 30A, but it’s also one of the most important to plan ahead for. A lot of people don’t realize it’s actually private property, so you can’t just show up with a photographer and start shooting. Rosemary Beach requires approval in advance for any kind of photography, even engagement sessions.
If you’re staying in Rosemary, you can usually apply for a permit, but it has to be done at least 72 hours before your session and in 2026 the fee is $500 (unless you use a Rosemary Beach preferred vendor). If you’re not staying there, there are still options, but it may involve additional fees or restrictions depending on the situation.
Because of that, I always help my clients figure out if Rosemary is the right fit or if we should shoot somewhere nearby on 30A that gives a similar look without the extra steps.
